Yeşil Yemek – Revolutionizing Food Sustainability
Yeşil Yemek is a comprehensive digital platform designed to combat global food waste. By connecting local businesses with surplus food to community members, we create a circular economy that benefits both the environment and the people.
The mission of Yeşil Yemek was to build a bridge between food abundance and food scarcity. The platform features two primary interfaces: a robust dashboard for businesses to manage surplus inventory and a mobile application for users to discover and claim food items near them.
The main challenge was handling real-time inventory updates and location-based discovery across multiple platforms. Ensuring that food listings were accurate and expired items were automatically removed required a sophisticated backend architecture and seamless synchronization.
Leveraging React Native for the mobile app and React.js for the administrative web platform, we integrated Appwrite for real-time database management and authentication. We implemented a GPS-based filtering system and a notification engine to alert users whenever new surplus food is available in their vicinity.
